Re: Books

thanks for everyone who shared their one favorite book! feel like i know you all much better now, hipsters ;)

obscure statistics:

  • Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, To Kill A Mocking Bird, and One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest came up a lot, and i also noticed that all three have been adapted into the big screen. i have no interest in seeing Extremely Loud movie, though. I used to be a huge fan of Jonathan Safran Foer, but now..I just don’t know, man.
  • Catcher In The Rye is also quite popular, no surprise here. I know that Catcher is often labeled as “emo-adolescence lit” or “books you ought to grow out once you grew up” but to this i say: F the h8rs, y’all. #ForeverEmoAdolescent
  • I really need to start reading Cormac MacCarthy!
  • none of you replied with “HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN..NO WAIT..HARRY POTTER AND THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS”. i’m appalled that Dwight Schrute isn’t following this blog.
  • Also: I’ve been planning to make a Year In Reading 2011 since, well, 2011.. will try to make it happen next week. i didn’t really read a lot of book last year but DAMN some of them were the best books i’ve ever read.
